Resilience and disinformation discussed at Dubai media summit — Euronews
At the Arab Media Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, representatives of the UAE, Azerbaijan and Georgia discussed shaping national narratives, economic resilience and countering disinformation. The second day of the event was dedicated to the Euronews forum, attended by UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev and Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili, Euronews reports.
UAE economic resilience
Al Marri said that the UAE economy is being shaped not to recover after crises, but with future shocks in mind. According to him, resilience cannot be purchased — it must be built, and it is insurance for economies.
The minister also stressed that during crises, government communication should not be louder, but constant. He emphasized the importance of explaining the reasons for and mechanisms of decisions, and then implementing them.

Statements by Azerbaijan and Georgia
Hikmet Hajiyev presented Baku's position on the peace process with Armenia. He mentioned the joint declaration signed with the United States in Washington in August 2025 and said that Azerbaijan, in his assessment, is winning in peace. Hajiyev also announced Azerbaijan's accession to the Central Asian leaders' platform, after which the number of participants in the association increased from five to six.
Botchorishvili and Hajiyev said that their countries had become targets of long-running disinformation campaigns. UAE Minister of State Noura Al Kaabi, who spoke at a separate session on media and diplomacy, said that the response to disinformation should be engagement, speed and credibility. She also urged young people to verify information before sharing it.
The summit's program included discussions on the international distribution of Arab cinema, content for TikTok, the role of women in Arab drama and medical advice from influencers. Participants also discussed Lebanon's new media law and watched the Oscar-nominated documentary film “Inside Gaza.” The summit concludes on Thursday at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
