The Kuban River is flooding in Russia due to a dam breach
In Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, severe flooding on the Kuban River caused a major dam breach in the Slavyansk District, forcing authorities to declare a state of emergency.
Local incidents at the aggressor country’s hydraulic structures are becoming increasingly frequent due to the inability of local services to maintain the infrastructure.
A massive breach, nearly 30 meters wide, formed in the earthen embankment behind the “Neftyanik” gardening association.
Due to the rapid flooding of residential areas, an emergency evacuation of residents from the villages of Urma and Khankov-2 has begun.

Russian emergency services are attempting to stem the flow of water, which continues to flood surrounding areas and destroy private properties.
According to the local unified dispatch service, they are attempting to reinforce the protective structure using 30,000 sandbags, and have additionally installed 200 meters of a temporary earthen dam.
Currently, about 500 rescue workers are on the scene of the massive accident, and dozens of pieces of specialized equipment have been deployed. Despite the efforts of the response teams, the water level in the Kuban River remains critically high.
