At the NATO summit in Ankara on May 22, there are plans to discuss U.S. President Donald Trump’s “disappointment” with the Alliance. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made this statement, noting that this issue will be one of the items on the meeting’s agenda.

According to him, the summit in Ankara will be “one of the most important leaders’ summits in NATO history,” as leaders will have to address Trump’s “frustration” with “the Alliance’s response to our operations in the Middle East.”
"This issue will have to be resolved, but it will not be resolved or addressed today. This is something the leaders need to discuss," Rubio said.
The U.S. Secretary of State also commented on Trump’s statement regarding the deployment of 5,000 troops to Poland.
"The United States continues to have global obligations that it must fulfill regarding the deployment of our forces, and this constantly requires us to review where we station our troops. This is not a punishment; it is simply an ongoing process, and it existed before," he added.
As is known, the NATO leaders’ summit is scheduled for July 7–8 in Ankara.
