Temperatures in northern Taiwan could drop to 17°C at night and in the morning in the coming days due to the first northeastern monsoon system of this autumn. This was reported by Taipei Times, citing Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration.
Cooling in the north
Central Weather Administration forecaster Tseng Chao-chen said that the seasonal winds would affect the island from Wednesday through Friday, with northern areas feeling their effects most strongly. Nighttime and early morning temperatures there will range from 17 to 20°C due to possible radiative cooling — the cooling of the Earth’s surface under clear skies, light winds and dry conditions.
In central Taiwan, nighttime and early morning temperatures from Wednesday through Friday are expected to range from 21 to 24°C. In the south, temperatures will remain at 24–25°C during this period. Daytime temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday will reach 30–32°C, before falling by 1–2 degrees on Friday.

Rain on the coast and in the east
Northeasterly winds will bring moisture to windward areas north of Taoyuan and to eastern Taiwan. More intense rainfall is forecast on Friday along the northern coast, as well as in the eastern counties of Yilan and Hualien.
Over the weekend, the influence of the seasonal winds is forecast to weaken. Brief rain is possible in Greater Taipei and the eastern part of the island, while short-lived showers may occur in some places in the south. Other areas are expected to see cloudy weather with possible afternoon rain. From Monday through Tuesday, moisture levels are expected to decrease and rain will weaken.
