In the Urals, a Russian man who fought against Ukraine shot and killed a police officer

In the village of Akkermanivka in the Orenburg Region, an armed man opened fire on police officers during his arrest.

This was reported by the region’s governor, Yevgeny Solntsev.

As a result of the shooting, one law enforcement officer was killed, and three others were wounded and are in critical condition.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the attacker is 51-year-old Sergei Basalaev, who was wanted by federal authorities. During the attempt to apprehend him, he opened fire with an automatic rifle and then fled in a truck.

A criminal investigation has been opened into the attack under the article on attempts on the lives of law enforcement officers.

According to media reports, the man had previously visited the combat zone in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, but his status in the war is currently unknown.

On the front lines, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers eliminated Yuriy Hrytsenko, known as the “Zelenograd maniac.” After serving his sentence, he joined the war against Ukraine.
