Palestinian shot dead in the West Bank — Anadolu Agency
Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian in the occupied West Bank in Palestine. According to Anadolu Agency, this occurred on Sunday, September 20, near the Israeli settlement of Ganim in the northern West Bank.
Israeli army's version
The Israeli army said that the man allegedly attempted a vehicle-ramming attack. The military did not disclose his name. Ganim is located east of Jenin. The settlement was evacuated in 2005 under Israel's unilateral disengagement plan, but in August Israel reopened it and allowed settlers to return.

Measures ahead of Yom Kippur
Earlier, Israel's public broadcaster reported that a settler was wounded in a shooting from a vehicle near the settlement of Nili in the central West Bank. The Israeli army strengthened security measures across the territory ahead of the start of the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur on the evening of September 20.
Palestinians accuse Israel of using the holiday period to intensify attacks in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as well as to increase raids on the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. The report also notes that since the start of the war in Gaza in October 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have intensified attacks on Palestinians and their property, including killings, arrests, home demolitions, and settlement expansion.
