UN media tent in New York closed due to severe weather — The National

In New York, United States, a media tent covering the UN General Assembly was closed due to a warning of dangerous weather conditions. As The National reports, the US National Weather Service issued a storm warning on Friday evening because of expected strong winds.

Restrictions for journalists

The media centre for journalists working at the General Assembly, as well as the entrance from 47th Street, closed at 4:00 p.m. According to a media liaison representative, they will remain closed on Saturday.

The representative also said that all equipment, as well as outdoor canopies and tents, must be removed from the area as soon as possible.
