Germany arrests Ukrainian suspected in Nord Stream Sabotage
On November 28, the Federal Court of Germany arrested Ukrainian citizen Serhiy Kuznetsov. Berlin suspects him of involvement in the sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.
This was reported in a press release by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of Germany.
According to the statement, a judge of the Federal Court issued an arrest warrant for “Ukrainian citizen Serhiy K.”, likely referring to Serhiy Kuznetsov. The warrant was issued in connection with the alleged sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
The warrant was executed, and it was confirmed that Kuznetsov was arrested in Italy and extradited to Germany on November 27, 2025. No further details were provided by the prosecutor’s office.
Italy extradited the 49-year-old Ukrainian, suspected of organizing the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline attacks, to Germany. Kuznetsov was transported to Germany by helicopter after spending more than three months in pre-trial detention in Italy.
