Germany ensured that the Russian finance minister was not included in the G20 group photo
German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil opposed the participation of his Russian counterpart, Anton Siluanov, in the official photo session of G20 finance ministers in the United States.
According to German media reports, Klingbeil convinced his European counterparts not to be photographed alongside the Russian representative. As a result, the traditional “group photo” of the meeting’s participants was taken without Siluanov.
The German minister stated that the presence of a Russian representative should not give the impression of a normalization of relations with Moscow amid the war against Ukraine.
During the meeting, Klingbeil also addressed Siluanov personally and stated that Russia must end the war and that Germany stands with Ukraine.

As a reminder, Ukraine and Germany will expand their joint weapons production.
At present, other countries have not made any specific commitments regarding the transfer of additional air defense systems or missiles to Ukraine. This was stated by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul following a trip to Kharkiv. According to him, requests from partners are at least not being rejected, but there are no concrete agreements yet.
