A German politician from the AfD called Poles the "African Americans of Europe"

Fabian Keibel, a representative of the German far-right party “Alternative for Germany,” published a series of offensive posts targeting Poles in response to a rally organized by Polish politicians from the “Confederation” party led by Sławomir Menczen near the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin to mark the anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising.

The German politician accused the event’s participants of chauvinism, made sarcastic remarks about reparations, and called Poles “the African Americans of Europe” who are “whining and feeling sorry for themselves again.” At the same time, Fabian Keibel stated that Europe’s future depends on cooperation among right-wing forces and a rejection of past conflicts.

Two months before the Berlin House of Representatives election, the right-wing populist party “Alternative for Germany,” led by Christine Brinker, took the lead in the polls for the first time.

Sven Schulze, Prime Minister of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, called on the ruling CDU/CSU bloc to conclude personnel discussions at the federal level as soon as possible, so that they do not interfere with the campaign ahead of the state parliamentary elections. Voting in Saxony-Anhalt is scheduled for September 6.
