The UAE is demanding compensation from Iran for attacks on the country

Anwar Gargesh, an advisor to the president of the United Arab Emirates, has called on Iran to pay compensation for the damage caused by attacks on the country's territory.

This was reported by CNN.

According to Gargesh, any political decision to resolve the conflict must provide not only for an end to aggression but also for specific accountability mechanisms.

“Any political solution aimed at countering Iran’s aggression against the Arab states of the Persian Gulf must include clear guarantees to prevent future attacks, enshrine the principle of non-aggression, and provide for compensation from Iran for attacks on the civilian population and vital civilian infrastructure,” he emphasized.

The UAE presidential adviser also stated that Tehran “misled” neighboring states before the war began and demonstrated “deliberate aggression.”

In addition, he called Iran “the main threat to the security of the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf.”

The statement came as Iran itself had previously demanded compensation from the U.S. and Israel for damages caused during the conflict, which has been ongoing for nearly 30 days.

On Sunday, March 29, the United Arab Emirates’ air defense successfully intercepted 58 aerial targets launched from Iran. Among them were 16 ballistic missiles and 42 unmanned aerial vehicles.

The day before, Iranian forces struck the United Arab Emirates, launching 20 ballistic missiles and 37 drones. According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, all attacks were intercepted, but overall tensions in the region are rising.
