Iran has struck one of Emirates Global Aluminium’s (EGA) plants in Abu Dhabi. Several plant employees were injured in the attack.
This was reported by the Financial Times.
According to the publication, the strike was carried out with missiles and drones against the Al Taweelah plant the day after attacks on Iran’s two largest steel mills.
EGA is one of the world’s largest aluminum producers. Last year, the Al Taweelah plant produced 1.6 million tons of cast metal. The company is jointly owned by the Mubadala and Investment Corporation of Dubai funds.
It is also noted that automakers began actively purchasing aluminum as early as last week, fearing that the conflict in the Persian Gulf region could limit its supply.
As a reminder, the United States suffered significant technological and financial losses during the attack in the Middle East. As a result of the massive bombardment of the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, Iranian missiles and drones destroyed a rare E-3 Sentry (AWACS) long-range radar detection aircraft.
The day before, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced possible strikes on American universities in the Middle East.
And U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the U.S. intends to continue the war with Iran for some time to neutralize that country for a “very long period.”
