Poland will launch a new reconnaissance satellite to enhance security
On Monday, March 30, Poland plans to launch a satellite that will enhance the country’s strategic and intelligence capabilities and improve national security.
This was announced by Polish Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk on social media.
“On March 30 at 12:20 p.m. Polish time, the launch of another MikroSAR satellite from the POLSAR constellation is scheduled from Vandenberg Air Force Base,” he said.
According to the minister, this step is part of the effort to establish independent satellite reconnaissance capabilities for the Polish Armed Forces. The satellites will be able to operate regardless of weather conditions and time of day.
“In practice, this means: better situational awareness, faster decision-making, and a real strengthening of national security,” summarized Cezary Tomczyk.
As a reminder, satellite imagery from February 17, 2026, captured the creation of a layered defense system around the former military airfield near Krychev, where Russia may be deploying “Oreshnik” missiles.
