The Face of Wildberries Is Moving Its Business to Belarus

Russian businessman Berdie Begmenov, who became famous for his videos expressing despair after every delivery to Wildberries’ warehouses, announced that he is moving to Belarus, which he considers a more peaceful place. There, he plans to set up sales of Chinese goods abroad, particularly to the U.S. and Europe.

“MINSK, I’M BACK. My first chapter began here 15 years ago. Here I studied, worked, made mistakes, had my first college romance; here I dreamed and took my first steps in business.
And today I’m returning here to start a new chapter—with different experiences, different opportunities, and, most importantly, with dreams on a completely different scale,” Begmenov wrote from Minsk Airport.

Apparently unaware of the various sanctions that the EU and the U.S. have imposed on Belarus, the Russian entrepreneur is confident that he will be able to assemble a new team and begin selling to Western countries.

“Here, I want to assemble a team that will work with me to build sales in the U.S. and Europe. Here I want to assemble the best traffic department (Google Ads + Meta Ads + TikTok Ads)—let’s call it the traffic arbitrage department,” Begmenov stated.

Recall that he commented on every attack on Wildberries’ warehouses, advising Russian businesspeople not to worry, to hang in there, and to start all over again. After the first Wildberries warehouses were destroyed, Begmenov recorded a video in support of Wildberries, assuring viewers that he would remain on the platform “until the very end.”

Later, Begmenov recorded a video from China, where he was establishing new business connections.

On August 18, a drone struck a Wildberries warehouse in the Bogorodsky Urban District of the Moscow Region, after which a fire broke out at the facility. Russian authorities reported a large-scale drone attack on the Moscow region, where, according to their data, more than 150 drones were shot down.

On the night of August 16, a massive fire broke out at the Wildberries logistics complex in the village of Koledino, near Podolsk in the Moscow region of the Russian Federation.

The losses incurred by the Russian marketplace Wildberries and its sellers due to strikes on its warehouse infrastructure could reach nearly $12 billion. Ukrainian attacks have disabled all of the company’s large warehouses and about one-third of its total warehouse capacity.
