Fuel supply limits for farmers in the UK amid global energy challenges
The UK has imposed limits on diesel fuel sales for farmers against the backdrop of Middle East conflict, reports The Daily Telegraph. Wholesale suppliers in Essex and parts of Scotland have capped diesel availability for agricultural machinery owners.
Concurrently, Chinese authorities have introduced temporary retail price controls on petrol and diesel following a sharp rise in global oil prices, according to the Xinhua news agency citing China’s National Development and Reform Commission.
In Bangladesh, fuel shortages threaten to close all petrol stations, according to the country’s fuel station owners association.
Ethiopia is also experiencing a gas shortage due to halted supplies from the United Arab Emirates.
These developments highlight the widespread energy challenges affecting agriculture and daily life in multiple countries worldwide.
Such fuel restrictions and price controls are expected to persist until geopolitical tensions ease and oil market prices stabilise.
