Åkesson also rejected information from TV4, based on anonymous sources within the party, about a possible temporary break in his leadership. He said that he plans neither to resign nor to take a break, and called the sources of such reports not very well informed, if they exist at all.
According to the politician, the Sweden Democrats are one of the largest parties in parliament, so, in his view, it is not they but the smaller centrist parties that should make concessions. He also accused these parties of creating parliamentary chaos in Sweden for a long time.
