The crash of a Russian missile in Poland is a direct threat to NATO, says Estonia's foreign minister
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated that the violation of Polish airspace by a Russian missile indicates that Russia’s war is already extending beyond Ukraine’s borders and poses a direct threat to NATO countries and the European Union.
According to the minister, every Russian missile fired at Ukrainian civilian targets confirms that the Kremlin’s actions only encourage further aggression.
“During Russia’s latest missile strike on Ukraine, Polish airspace was also violated. This is yet another reminder that Russia’s war is extending beyond Ukraine’s borders and poses a direct threat to the security of NATO and the EU,” Margus Tsahkna said.
The Estonian foreign minister emphasized that Europe must respond more decisively to Russia’s actions by intensifying sanctions and diplomatic pressure.
“These attacks only strengthen our resolve and demonstrate that Europe must increase pressure on the Kremlin. Every missed opportunity to tighten sanctions and further isolate Russia sends the wrong signal,” he emphasized.
Margus Tsahkna noted that Russia must face increasing political, economic, and diplomatic isolation until it ends the war against Ukraine.
According to him, the Kremlin must withdraw its troops from Ukrainian territory and be held accountable for the aggression it has unleashed.
The Estonian foreign minister made this statement on the social media platform X.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had warned him the day before that Russia was preparing a large-scale airstrike against Ukraine. According to the Polish prime minister, Kyiv had accurate information about the impending attack.
