Pakistan says it struck ten targets in Afghanistan — Dawn

Pakistan said it carried out precise air and drone strikes on ten targets in Afghanistan. According to Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, the operation was a response to drones launched from the neighboring country the day before.

Statement by Pakistani minister

Tarar reported the strikes in a post on the social network X overnight into Thursday. As Dawn reports, the minister described Pakistan’s actions as an exercise of its sovereign right to self-defense.

According to Tarar, the strikes targeted ten locations in Afghanistan that, Pakistan claims, were used to launch and store drones. He linked these sites to attempted attacks against Pakistan.

Nature of the operation

Pakistan’s information minister said the strikes were deliberate, precise, measured, and proportionate. He also claimed that the operation was strictly limited to identified military targets directly linked to attempted attacks against Pakistan.
