One Nation Chief of Staff James Ashby told radio station 4BC that the staff member was on her way to the party’s booth when she was verbally abused by three women and a man. According to his account, the conflict escalated, after which the woman was struck in the rib area.

In a social media post, One Nation claims that the team member was attacked by three young women and a young man. Ashby believes she may have been targeted because of her T-shirt bearing the One Nation logo, though this is his assessment.
Queensland Police reported that they are aware of these allegations but have not received an official report regarding the incident. Meanwhile, the Queensland Ambulance Service noted that it has no record of a crew being dispatched to Ekka on Thursday or Friday to treat a woman between the ages of 60 and 69 with rib injuries.
RNA CEO Brendan Christou stated that the organization had been informed of the alleged incident by the Queensland Police. He called the allegations extremely concerning and said that the RNA would cooperate with the police investigation.
