In Lebanon, the fifth and final season of the Israeli series Fauda ranked first among Netflix shows. The Jerusalem Post reported this, citing the ratings tracking service FlixPatrol. The new season was released on Netflix on September 8.

According to FlixPatrol, at the time of publication, the series was also among the top 10 most popular shows in nine other Arab countries. It ranked fourth in Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar; sixth in Bahrain and Morocco; seventh in Oman; eighth in Kuwait; and tenth in Egypt.

Earlier that same week, the season had risen to second place in Jordan, the UAE and Bahrain, third in Qatar, Kuwait, Morocco and Oman, and fourth in Egypt. What the series is about

Fauda was created by Israelis Lior Raz, who also plays one of the roles, and Avi Issacharoff. The series was produced by Yes Studios; its plot focuses on an Israeli counterterrorism unit and is based on real stories.

In the new season, two episodes contain a detailed flashback to the events of October 7, 2023, when, according to the Jerusalem Post, Hamas militants killed 1,200 people in southern Israel. In an interview with Ynet before the premiere, Issacharoff said that this time the creators sought to tell the story from an Israeli perspective.

Lebanese newspaper Al Joumhouria published a review that noted the series' psychological scenes. At the same time, the reviewer pointed to the difficulty of combining an action film, psychological drama and reflection on events in Israel after October 7.
