Following Starmer's resignation, the leader of the right-wing populists called for early elections

Nigel Farage, leader of the right-wing populist party Reform UK, reacted to the announcement of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s resignation by calling for a snap general election.

The politician stated that British voters are no longer willing to put up with politicians who, in his view, fail to keep their campaign promises once they come to power.

“Starmer isn’t the first prime minister I’ve ousted, and he won’t be the last. David Cameron. Theresa May. Rishi Sunak. And the next one will be Andy Burnham. The reason for the failure of each of these leaders is the same,” Farage said.

According to him, the main problem facing the British political establishment is the loss of public trust in traditional parties and the political elite.

“The political elite doesn’t understand that voters won’t tolerate being treated like fools. They can no longer take the votes of the people who supported them for granted, only to betray them as soon as they come to power. Politics is based on trust,” emphasized the leader of Reform UK.

Farage is convinced that the country needs a change in leadership as soon as possible through the electoral process, as further delay will only deepen political instability.

“You know as well as I do that the country cannot afford to waste another week drifting from crisis to crisis. That is precisely why millions of you turned out for the local elections to vote for Reform UK candidates, and that is precisely why we have been leading in over 300 opinion polls for more than a year,” he stated.

The Reform UK party has recently seen a rise in popularity, and Farage himself is increasingly positioning his political force as the main alternative to traditional British parties amid changes in the country’s leadership.

This was reported by The Telegraph.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has informed staff at his office of his final decision to resign.

Within the UK Labour Party, talk has intensified about a possible leadership change and the potential resignation of Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham is considered the leading contender to replace him.

The British Foreign Secretary has called on Starmer to resign.
