The Pyongyang Metro remains the world's most secret underground facility

The subway system in North Korea’s capital, whose construction began back in 1965, has been officially recognized as one of the most secretive transportation systems in the world.

The Telegraph reports on this.

In addition to fulfilling its primary logistical function, the Pyongyang subway serves as a strategic civil defense facility and part of the military infrastructure.

The system consists of two lines with a total length of 22.5 kilometers and includes 17 operational stations. The uniqueness of this facility lies in its extreme depth—the platforms are located at a depth of 100 to 200 meters below ground.

Thanks to this deep burial, the metro is capable of serving as a reliable shelter for the population in the event of a nuclear strike or a large-scale military conflict.

Reinforced airtight doors and the special layout of the passages underscore the military purpose of this structure.

The fare on the Pyongyang Metro is a record low by global standards, at just $0.005.

As a reminder, details have emerged on how the metro and buses will operate in Kyiv during Easter.

Also, campaign materials for Klitschko have begun to be distributed in the Kyiv metro.
