Polish military forces intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea
On the afternoon of August 31, the Polish Air Force detected a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft flying in international airspace over the Baltic Sea.
The Russian aircraft was near Polish airspace but did not violate it. Polish fighter jets intercepted and escorted the Il-20, after which it left the area.

Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft 30 km north of the city of Leba.
According to the Polish minister, “Russia has once again tested our deterrence and air defense systems.”
“There was no violation of our airspace over the Baltic Sea,” he clarified.
