Poland is preparing for a possible war with Russia

Poland has stated that the country is preparing for a potential war, although it hopes that one will not break out.

Polish Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk warned that a large-scale provocation by Russia could occur within the next few months.

He noted that Warsaw no longer distinguishes between realistic and unrealistic scenarios, but rather assesses them as likely or unlikely. According to him, much will depend on how the war in Ukraine unfolds.

At the same time, Tomczyk emphasized that Russia is not currently ready for a direct confrontation with NATO and would lose such a war. He called for strengthening the Alliance’s defenses, supporting Ukraine, and preventing Russia from approaching NATO’s borders.

On August 7, Polish security services detained a Russian citizen who, according to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, was planning to assassinate a person with dual U.S. and Ukrainian citizenship in Warsaw. This was reported by Notes from Poland.

Poland will warn its citizens when fighter jets are scrambled during Russian attacks on Ukraine.
