Poland May Restore Free Housing to Some Ukrainians
A bill has been introduced in the Polish Sejm that would expand the list of vulnerable groups of Ukrainians eligible for free housing and health insurance.
This includes, in particular, single mothers, low-income retirees, and family members of people in vulnerable categories.
Pensioners would be eligible for assistance if their pension does not exceed half of the minimum pension—940 zlotys. There are also plans to expand eligibility for health insurance and free medical care in Poland.
The bill was registered on August 3. It is expected to be considered by the Sejm in September. According to preliminary estimates, the changes could affect several thousand Ukrainians.
