Poland Will Step Up Bus Inspections Following a Fatal Traffic Accident in Hungary
The Polish government has ordered additional inspections of buses and bus companies following a crash involving a bus with Polish license plates in Hungary, which killed 12 people.
Polish Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak has also initiated an investigation into the company that owned the bus. Particular attention will be paid to the technical condition of the vehicles, drivers’ compliance with work and rest regulations, and passenger transport rules.
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Stanislav Bukovets emphasized that passenger safety must be a priority. He also urged passengers to wear seat belts while traveling.
As a reminder, a Polish-registered bus was involved in a fatal accident in Hungary last night. Twelve people were killed, and at least 10 others were injured.
