Poland Will Build Europe's Fastest Railroad — Tusk

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the launch of the Integrated Railway Network (ZSK) project, which calls for the construction of the fastest railway in Europe. Trains on the new high-speed lines will be able to reach speeds of up to 350 km/h.

The project includes the construction of 2,700 km of new high-speed tracks, over 2,000 km of conventional rail routes, and the modernization of an additional 5,600 km of existing infrastructure. The total cost of the program is estimated at approximately 610 billion zlotys (about 141 billion euros).

According to Tusk, once the project is completed, it will be possible to reach all of the country’s largest cities from Warsaw in about 100 minutes, and a trip from west to east or from north to south in Poland will take no more than three hours. Construction is scheduled to be completed between 2050 and 2060.
