Malaysian representative notes the development of robotics in China
Aaron Gan Chai Hen, a tourism representative of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai, noted the rapid development of robotics and the new energy vehicle sector in China at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). He said this in an interview with ECNS.
Promoting Malaysian tourism
According to the consulate representative, Malaysia has been participating in CIFTIS since 2022. This year, the country is paying more attention to promoting its tourism industry and Malaysian products through this platform.
Gan Chai Hen noted that 2026 is Visit Malaysia Year. The country seeks to promote its tourism sector more actively and present more Malaysian-made products at CIFTIS.

Visa-free travel and technology
He also reported that China and Malaysia introduced a mutual visa-free regime at the end of 2023, allowing Chinese tourists to travel to Malaysia without obtaining a visa.
The consulate representative separately drew attention to China’s new energy vehicle sector. According to him, China has numerous brands of such vehicles, and their technologies made a deep impression on him.
Gan Chai Hen added that many robots can be seen in China. In his opinion, they are used not only in manufacturing: robots can be programmed for a wider range of tasks and may potentially be used in other countries in the future.
