The Finnish Prime Minister called on Europe to engage more actively in negotiations regarding Ukraine

Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo stated that Europe must take on more responsibility in the peace talks regarding the war in Ukraine.

This was reported by Yle.

According to him, European countries must increase economic support for Ukraine and become more actively involved in the negotiation process.

Orpo also criticized the U.S. for easing oil sanctions against Russia amid developments in the Middle East.

He suggested that Moscow is counting on Washington shifting its attention to other regions.

The prime minister emphasized that in such a situation, Europe must take on a greater role.

At the same time, he expressed hope that negotiations between the U.S. and Iran would help stabilize the situation in the Middle East.

As a reminder, Finland has deported a record number of Russians.

Finland is also making it harder to obtain a permanent residence permit.
