President Erdoğan calls for protecting and enriching the Turkish language — Anadolu Agency
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the occasion of Turkish Language Day on September 26, called for preserving, enriching and passing it on to future generations. In a statement distributed by Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications on the NSosyal social network, he stressed that this is a shared responsibility.
Language as a bearer of heritage
Erdoğan stated that for the nation, the Turkish language is not only a means of communication, but also a bearer of history, culture, civilizational heritage and collective memory. According to him, it has been enriched over the centuries through interaction with different peoples and regions.
The president also noted that the Turkish language has expressed the thoughts and feelings of the people in various fields, from poetry and literature to science and art, Anadolu Agency reports.

Focus on the younger generation
The Turkish president called it a duty to protect the Turkish language as a heritage received from the past, enrich it and pass it on to future generations in the best possible way. He particularly emphasized the need to promote the correct, beautiful and careful use of the language, as well as to strengthen respectful attitudes toward it among children and young people.
Erdoğan added that a nation that protects its language also protects its own history and future.
