Prince William has commented for the first time on Kate Middleton's health following her cancer diagnosis

Prince William of Wales shared details about his wife, Kate Middleton’s, recovery. The heir to the British throne publicly expressed his pride in the princess’s resilience, as she has successfully overcome her battle with cancer and is returning to her international duties. 

William spoke about this during a candid interview on the British radio show Heart Breakfast. 
 

Prince William emphasized his wife’s key role in their family’s life, calling her a wonderful mother and an incredible woman, without whom the family simply could not have coped with the challenges of recent years. The reason for his optimistic remarks was the Princess of Wales’ first official overseas visit to Italy in a long time, which took place in May. According to the prince, Kate was very much looking forward to this trip, and although such events remain physically taxing for her, she is currently in good physical shape. The royal family carefully manages the princess’s schedule to ensure she has enough time to rest and fully recover her strength.

As a reminder, Kate Middleton officially announced her cancer diagnosis and the start of a course of preventive chemotherapy in March 2024, which forced her to step back from her royal duties entirely. Kensington Palace announced the completion of her treatment in September 2024. By January 2025, the Princess of Wales confirmed that the disease had entered a stage of stable remission, after which her gradual and planned return to public life and official travels began.

On May 13, Princess of Wales Kate Middleton made her first official visit following a lengthy hiatus due to cancer treatment. She visited the Italian city of Reggio Emilia, where she participated in events organized by the Royal Early Years Foundation.
