St. Petersburg University has required students to install the Max messaging app

Saint Petersburg State University has made it mandatory for all staff and students at the institution to install the domestic app Max

This requirement applies not only to current employees but is also an official condition for signing an employment contract.

Additional strict requirements have been added to the internal university document “On the Implementation of a Multifunctional Information Exchange Service.” The administration has clearly defined new rules for internal communication.

Vladimir Starostenko, Vice Rector for Digital Transformation and Information Security, has already issued the relevant instructions to the institution’s HR departments.

From now on, the Human Resources Department must add this document to the list of papers that are mandatory to review during the hiring process.

Sources at the university confirm that copies of this order were promptly distributed to all departments and faculties without exception.

The introduction of the new software has sparked a wave of outrage and resistance within the staff due to the total control it entails. The university administration is pressuring employees to speed up the transition to the controlled service.

Russian messenger MAX deemed a spy app

The Russian State Duma immediately passed amendments to the Housing Code in the second and third readings, requiring apartment buildings to use the national messenger app Makh for their chat groups.

Putin’s messaging app MAX turned out to be 60 times less popular than Telegram.
