ICC Prosecutor Loses Appeal Against Suspension from the Practice of Law

Karim Khan, the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, who faces allegations of sexual harassment, lost his appeal to the Bar Standards Board (BSB) of the United Kingdom seeking to overturn his temporary suspension from the practice of law. The regulator ruled that he must remain suspended until a decision is made on the allegations against him

The suspension was announced in June and has now been upheld by a temporary BSB panel. The disciplinary proceedings were initiated based on testimony from an ICC staff member who alleges prolonged coercive and non-consensual sexual acts by the official. The chief prosecutor has also been suspended from his position at the court.

Khan’s supporters suggest that he may have become a political target. They link this to his attempts to obtain arrest warrants for Israeli officials in connection with the hostilities in Gaza.

This is reported by “European Truth.”

The governing body of the International Criminal Court has decided to suspend Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan. The decision is related to the conclusion of disciplinary proceedings initiated following allegations of sexual harassment. Further details of the case have not been officially disclosed.

The Moscow City Court has issued a verdict in absentia against the prosecutor and eight judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the alleged unlawful prosecution of Russian citizens.
