Putin announces renewal of Russia’s aircraft fleet — Anadolu Agency
In Russia, the president of the aggressor state, Vladimir Putin, said that the country needs to expand and renew its aircraft fleet, as well as modernize airport infrastructure. He said this during a videoconference at a ceremony for signing an agreement between Aeroflot airline and the state corporation Rostec on the supply of 90 MC-21 aircraft, Anadolu Agency reports.
MC-21 contract
Putin called the agreement on the supply of 90 MC-21 aircraft an important step for the development of Russia’s aviation industry. According to him, the contract should ensure a significant workload for aircraft manufacturers, as well as their suppliers and contractors.
He expressed expectations that the agreement would be fulfilled according to the established schedule, without delays or disruptions. Rostec said that the delivery of 90 aircraft to Aeroflot is scheduled for 2029–2032 and is the largest such contract in the history of Russian civil aviation.

The agreement provides not only for the supply of aircraft, but also for flight simulators, training for pilots and ground personnel, as well as technical support for the aircraft.
Airport modernization
Putin also announced the completion in several regions of projects to build new terminals and upgrade airfield and border infrastructure. He called a developed aviation network important for connecting Russia’s territories and ensuring access to remote areas of the Arctic, Siberia and the Far East.
According to him, since 2021, 20 runways and 26 terminal complexes have been put into operation in the country. New terminals, Putin claimed, were opened in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Khabarovsk, Magadan, Novosibirsk and Cheboksary. By 2030, Russia plans to modernize at least 75 airports — more than one-third of the country’s entire airport network.
