Putin's approval rating among Russians has dropped
Support for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is on the decline, according to data from leading Russian polling organizations.
This is evidenced by the results of a poll conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation.
According to the survey, 73% of respondents believe that Putin is “doing a good job” as president. This is the lowest figure since late February 2022.
A week earlier, this figure stood at 76%. Additionally, the level of trust in him has dropped to 73%—a decrease of one percentage point.
At the same time, the share of those who view Putin’s performance negatively rose to 13%. Another 17% of respondents said they do not trust him—three percentage points more than before.
Separately, the independent Levada Center reported that in April, Putin’s approval rating stood at 79%, but this figure has been gradually declining over the past few months.
Russian state polling agencies continue to record a decline in support for President Vladimir Putin amid the blocking of Telegram, restrictions on VPNs, and internet outages across the country.
The Kremlin has faced an unexpectedly harsh reaction from Russian society to attempts at total control over the information space.
