Russia and North Korea have signed a defense agreement valid until 2031 — DW
Russia and North Korea have agreed on a new defense pact that will remain in effect until 2031.
This was reported by DW.
According to the publication, a Russian delegation led by Defense Minister Andrei Belousov visited Pyongyang, where it held talks with North Korean leadership regarding the expansion of military cooperation.
The parties agreed on a defense cooperation plan for the period 2027–2031, though the details of the agreements have not been disclosed.
During the visit, Russian representatives also took part in commemorative events and unveiled a memorial to North Korean soldiers.
In addition, the Russian side awarded medals to DPRK servicemen who participated in combat operations against Ukraine, particularly in the Kursk region.
Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev made a working visit to North Korea, where talks with the country’s leadership are scheduled.
The state news agency of the aggressor country, TASS, and the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) signed an agreement on strategic cooperation, which provides for the exchange of information and delegations.
