Russia proposed that the U.S. halt intelligence sharing with Iran in exchange for ceasing support for Ukraine

Russia has proposed a deal to the U.S. under which the Kremlin would cease sharing intelligence with Iran in exchange for Washington’s refusal to provide intelligence to Ukraine.

Politico reports this, citing informed sources.

According to them, Russian representative Kirill Dmitriev voiced the proposal during a meeting with representatives of the Donald Trump administration—Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner—in Miami.

Specifically, the proposal involved halting the transfer of coordinates for U.S. military facilities in the Middle East to Iran. However, the U.S. rejected this initiative.

European diplomats expressed concern over such proposals, believing that Moscow is attempting to weaken transatlantic unity.

According to sources, this is not the only Russian initiative that the U.S. has rejected. In particular, they also did not support a proposal to transport Iranian enriched uranium to Russia.

As noted, against the backdrop of the war against Ukraine, Russia has intensified its cooperation with Iran, particularly in the fields of intelligence and military technology.
