Russia is conducting nuclear exercises

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has officially announced the start of large-scale military exercises involving strategic nuclear forces, which will take place from May 19 to 21, 2026

The main objective of these maneuvers is to test algorithms for the combat use of non-strategic and strategic weapons in the context of a simulated escalation. 

Currently, units have already begun deploying and moving into designated areas.

An unprecedented amount of equipment and manpower has been mobilized for the military exercises, indicating Moscow’s intention to stage yet another show of force. 

According to reports from Russian propaganda outlets, more than 64,000 personnel from the aggressor country’s army will participate in the exercises. 

The Russian military command has established command posts to coordinate the actions of all branches of the armed forces.

According to official reports, the occupying forces have deployed a significant arsenal of various components of the nuclear triad. 

In total, over 7,800 pieces of weaponry, military, and specialized equipment have been mobilized, including more than 200 missile launchers. 

Air support and training in the transport of relevant munitions will be provided by over 140 aircraft.

In Moscow, a court sentenced Tikhon Dzyadko, editor-in-chief of the TV channel "Dozhd," in absentia to eight years in prison. The journalist was found guilty in a case involving so-called "fake news" about the Russian army due to social media posts about events in Bucha and Irpin.

Vladimir Yarotsky, an artist from Krasnodar who had previously been convicted of spreading “fake news” about the Russian army and “desecrating” symbols of military glory, died in a Russian penal colony.
