Russia has banned imports of fruits and vegetables from Armenia due to beetles

Starting June 12, Rosselkhoznadzor imposed restrictions on the import of all quarantine-regulated products from Armenia, including local goods and re-exports. The ban also applies to transit through Russian territory to EAEU countries.

The agency explained that the decision was made due to the detection of a pest—the capricorn beetle—in shipments of products arriving from Armenia. These were isolated cases of infestation in nuts, dried peaches, and tomatoes, recorded in June.

It is also noted that Russia had previously imposed partial restrictions on certain types of Armenian products. The new measures will remain in effect until a mechanism for controlling and tracking shipments is agreed upon.

A scheme involving counterfeit canned meat for the army was uncovered in Russia.

Drone operators from the 3rd Separate Regiment of Special Operations Forces named after Prince Svyatoslav the Brave established aerial surveillance over a section of the strategic Melitopol — Chongar, which Russian troops actively use to supply their forces in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

In May 2026, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a series of strikes against key elements of Russian military infrastructure as part of the “middle strike” campaign. Logistical routes in the Luhansk region and toward Crimea, as well as the occupiers’ warehouses, headquarters, and air defense systems, came under fire, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
