Russia's Wildberries has ordered hundreds of thousands of square meters of mesh for its warehouses

Russia's Wildberries has ordered hundreds of thousands of square meters of mesh for its warehouses

In early August, the Wildberries marketplace announced a tender for the supply of galvanized metal mesh in eight regions of Russia where its logistics centers are located.

The purpose of the purchase was not specified, but a source at an industrial company told The Bell that the mesh could be used to protect warehouses from drone attacks.

Wildberries plans to purchase 478,000 square meters of mesh—an area roughly equivalent to 67 soccer fields. According to The Bell’s estimates, the cost of the purchase could range from 73.6 to 226.5 million rubles.

This is being reported by Russian propaganda media outlets.

Wildberries sellers have reported a 20 billion ruble delay in payments.

Ukrainian drones simultaneously attacked a Lukoil oil refinery and a Wildberries warehouse in Russia.

As a reminder, the Orsk oil refinery in the Orenburg region of Russia completely halted operations following an attack by Ukrainian drones.

Freight transportation costs are rising in Russia due to the strikes on the refinery, according to Reuters.
