Rubio spoke about Russia's difficult situation on the front lines in Ukraine

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the war is having severe consequences for Russia. According to him, Russia is not faring well on the front lines.

 

He added that, in light of this, there is every reason to cease hostilities. At the same time, the official noted that in global politics, logical and sensible decisions are not always put into practice.

“This war is terrible for Russia. I mean, they’re not doing well in this war. They just aren’t going well. So there is every reason to end it. But, unfortunately, in foreign policy and on issues like this, what makes sense doesn’t necessarily happen,” Rubio said.

Prior to this, Rubio accused Ukraine of striking ships linked to the U.S.

Earlier, the Financial Times reported that the U.S. had asked Volodymyr Zelenskyy not to attack ships near Novorossiysk so as not to create risks for Kazakh oil exports via the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, in which Americans hold a stake.

On July 31, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to ask him to stop attacking tankers in the Black Sea.
