Rubio stated that China aims to bring Taiwan under its control through peaceful means
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio believes that China would like to establish control over Taiwan without the use of force.
He stated this in an interview with NBC News.
According to Rubio, Beijing would ideally seek a scenario in which Taiwan voluntarily agreed to join China, specifically through a political decision or an expression of will.
At the same time, he emphasized that an attempt to seize the island by force would be a serious mistake with global consequences.
Rubio also emphasized that U.S. policy toward Taiwan remains unchanged and consistent, just as it was under previous U.S. administrations.
As a reminder, Trump has arrivedin China for the first time in nearly a decade.
