Romanian NATO fighter jets intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea
Romanian fighter jets participating in the NATO mission to patrol the airspace of the Baltic states intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea.
The Romanian military reported that this was the first such mission for Romanian fighter jets since they took over airspace patrols in the Baltic states.
"The first mission of the F-16 squadron deployed in Lithuania. F-16s from the Carpathian Vipers squadron intercepted an Il-20 aircraft belonging to the Russian Federation, which was flying near the airspace of the Baltic states without radio contact with air traffic control," the statement said.
Romanian aircraft identified and escorted the aircraft until it exited the NATO area of operations.

Additionally, Sumy was again hit by Russian strikes: an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle attacked the city’s industrial zone.
On the night of April 15, Russian troops carried out an attack on Zaporizhzhia. As a result of the strike, a massive fire broke out in one of the residential areas, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
