Samaras accuses Greek government of woke agenda — Balkan Insight
In Greece, former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras said that the conservative government is promoting a “woke agenda.” According to Balkan Insight, the reason for his statement was a newspaper report that users of the Greek health service’s online platform could select the gender options “Other” and “Undetermined” in addition to “Male” and “Female.”
Samaras’s statement
At the beginning of September, Samaras published a Facebook post in which he accused the government of promoting such an agenda. He also repeated claims that school textbooks allegedly depict families with same-sex parents. Balkan Insight described these claims as false.

The former head of government said that the scale of the ideological shift in the ruling party is what is “undetermined.” In his view, Greek families need support, not redefinition.
Expulsion from the party
Samaras is 75 years old. Last year, he was expelled from the ruling New Democracy party. Balkan Insight noted that the former prime minister retains resentment toward the party.
