Saudi Arabia condemns Israeli prime minister’s entry into Syria

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the Israeli prime minister’s entry into Syrian territory. The ministry described the move as an illegal violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Saudi Foreign Ministry statement

As Asharq Al-Awsat reports, citing the Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi Foreign Ministry expressed strong condemnation of the actions of the prime minister of the Israeli government. The statement also says that his entry into Syria constitutes a flagrant violation of international law.

Saudi Arabia reiterated its support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The statement does not specify when exactly the Israeli prime minister’s entry into Syrian territory took place.

Call to comply with the agreement

Riyadh stressed the need to stop Israeli violations and encroachments on Syrian territory. The Saudi side also called for compliance with the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement, which, in its assessment, should help preserve security and stability in the region.
