Serbia revoked Kadyrov’s nephew’s citizenship five days after granting it

Serbia revoked Kadyrov’s nephew’s citizenship five days after granting it

The Serbian government revoked the citizenship of Yakub Zakriev—the nephew of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov—just five days after it had been granted.

This was reported by Nedeljnik.

The decision to revoke citizenship was published on April 28 in the country’s official gazette. The document does not explicitly mention Zakriev’s name—it only cites the number of the previous decision granting citizenship dated April 23.

The document was signed by Serbian Prime Minister Džuro Matsu, who had also approved the decision to grant citizenship.

As grounds, the government cited a provision of the Administrative Procedure Act that allows for the revocation of an existing decision if necessary to “eliminate a grave and immediate threat to human life and health, public safety, public peace, and order.”

This is standard legal wording used in such cases.

Yakub Zakriev, the nephew of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, has been granted Serbian citizenship. The relevant decree was signed by the country’s Prime Minister, Juro Matsut.

Earlier, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov received a new award—an order for his contribution to the development of Russia’s cement industry. This is yet another honor in his extensive collection, which has long raised questions due to its diversity.

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov received the medal “For Contribution to the Development of Science.”
