Imran Khan’s sisters have been on hunger strike for 48 hours, relative says — Dawn
In Pakistan, three sisters of former prime minister Imran Khan — Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi — have been on a hunger strike for 48 hours, his cousin Qasim Zaman claims. Dawn reports.
Relative’s claim
Zaman arrived at Adiala prison on Tuesday to meet Imran Khan, but he was not allowed to do so.
According to Zaman, Imran Khan’s sisters began the hunger strike because of alleged mistreatment while in custody. Reports of their hunger strike had appeared earlier, but, according to the publication, Zaman became the first family member to confirm these claims.

Meeting denied
PTI’s acting chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Imran Khan’s lawyers also arrived at Adiala prison, but they too were not allowed to see him.
PTI lawyer Awais Younas Chaudhry told Dawn that the lawyers and a family member arrived at the prison at 14:00 and waited until 16:30, but the administration did not allow them to meet Imran Khan. He said the prison administration was violating orders of the Islamabad High Court and the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
