Sean Penn and Adrian Brody will star in a film about the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines
Filming is underway in Croatia for the new political thriller *Snake Island*, which focuses on the sabotage of the *Nord Stream* gas pipelines. Hollywood actors Sean Penn and Adrian Brody are among the film’s lead actors.
Filming is taking place in Zagreb and along the Croatian coast under the direction of director Doug Liman. The film is inspired by the 2022 events surrounding the explosions on the “Nord Stream” pipelines and tells a fictional story about Ukrainian divers, rather than presenting a fact-based account of those events.
Filming is taking place in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. An action thriller titled “Snake Island” is in the works. Filming has begun near the Esplanade Hotel. Local residents who witnessed the filming spotted actors in Ukrainian military uniforms on the streets, as well as Oscar-winning actors Sean Penn and Adrien Brody. Barricades and sandbags were also spotted on the set.
It is reported that the film will tell the story of the sabotage of the “Nord Stream” and “Nord Stream 2” pipelines near the island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea. The plot will center on characters portraying a team of Ukrainian divers.
Filming began last month; the film’s release date is currently unknown. The film is directed by Doug Liman. He is the director of films such as “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” “The Teleporters,” “Edge of Tomorrow,” “The Bourne Identity,” “Road House,” and others.
