Jigawa State in Nigeria sells out all 2027 Hajj slots
The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board in Nigeria reported that it had sold all slots allocated to the state for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage. The institution appealed to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria to provide additional slots due to high demand among those wishing to make the pilgrimage.
Request for additional slots
The board's Director General, Ahmad Umar Labbo, told journalists that a request to increase the quota had already been officially submitted to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. This was reported by Premium Times Nigeria.
According to Labbo, additional slots are needed to meet demand among prospective pilgrims from across the state. He expressed hope that the national commission would approve the request in time so that more applicants could complete their documentation.

Processing passport details
Labbo also noted that the portal for entering passport details is currently closed. The Forum of State Hajj Boards Chairpersons appealed to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria to reopen it.
The Director General thanked the board's staff for their dedication and work, which, he said, contributed to the smooth conduct of this year's Hajj-related operations.
