Sweden has dismissed company executives suspected of violating sanctions against Russia

In the Swedish city of Sundsvall, two executives of a Russian company were released after being detained on suspicion of serious violations of international sanctions against Russia.

According to the Sweden Herald, despite the suspects’ release, the formal charges remain in effect, and the investigation into the case is ongoing.

The Swedish prosecutor’s office continues to gather evidence and plans to conduct additional interrogations to clarify all the circumstances of the possible circumvention of restrictions.

Two individuals believed to be executives of a Russian company were detained in the Swedish city of Sundsvall on suspicion of serious sanctions violations. The detentions followed searches at the Kubal aluminum plant, which is linked to Russia. The operation involved, among others, members of the national task force.

As a reminder, Sweden has confirmed the Russian origin of a drone that was spying on a French aircraft carrier.

Sweden also allows for the deployment of nuclear weapons on its territory in the event of war.
